Does A Modest Proposal qualify as satire? Satire is a poetry type writing how people can be ridicule, And yes A Modest Proposal qualifies as Satire because he ridicules about eating young children and wearing them and serving them as food or other items
Blog 2: What social/health issue is being examined in A Modest Proposal?
The social/health issue being examined are people in that specific country are having to much "fun" and getting pregnant and having baby aftetr baby after baby and they are over-populating and they have absolutley no money at all and they cannot afford to pay for their child support or anything at all so the babies die after another
Blog 3: Who is the "proposer"? Who is the audience?
The proposer is Johnathan Swift because as he is the proposer he is also the author of A Modest Proposal and the audience i would have to say is the people of Ireland are basically the entire audience including the person who-ever is reading this particular book too.
Blog 4: Is there a difference between the "proposer" and Swift himself? Do you detect any irony to what he is saying?
The irony is that in this book the "proposer" cooks and eats babies and wears them as a clothing item but as a human being i believe the "proposer" is a intelligent human with bright ideas for books and does not eat little babies or wear them as a clothing item and i believe and think that there is a much BIGGER difference then the "proposer" and Swift himself
Blog 5: Who will benefit if Swift's proposal is accepted?
The particular people who will benefit Swift's proposal if it is accepted are people who like weird crazy books or some people who just like to read what they pick out and i believe that they have to be just careful people of the appropriate age should be at least.. AT LEAST over 14 years of age to read the Modest Proposal because children younger than that age might be a little freaked out and not to be funny but the books swtatments and story could infact haunt them for a long time if not the appropriate age
